How to Fix Aiwit Video Doorbell Won’t Connect to Wi-Fi
Here are possible solutions to fix your Aiwit doorbell network connection issues:
1. Check Internet connection
In resolving your doorbell, you should check your Wi-Fi connection using your Aiwit doorbell because it can be faulty and prevent the doorbell from connecting.
You can check the network connection in several ways. First, you can check it by connecting your phone to the same connection.
And then, open a web browser to check if you can use it. If you cannot open the web browser or use the internet on your phone, your Wi-Fi network is faulty.
Another way to check the Wi-Fi connection speed is by using a speed checker online website.
Also, you can check the connection by looking at the Wi-Fi symbols at the top of your screen. If there are four bars, it means the connection is strong; in other conditions, it will be considered slow.
2. Change Router Location
Suppose in the Wi-Fi network test you’ve got your Internet speed too slow you have to check the router location.
Sometimes the router can be placed away from your doorbell or phone where you’ve tested the network.
If the router and doorbell are far away from each other, it will cause slow/ weak signals and prevent the doorbell from connecting.
So, you should relocate your router and place it closer to the doorbell within about the 60-70 feet range.
3. Remove Interference
Having a lot of Internet interference is a common reason for Wi-Fi network connectivity issues. If there are several devices in the way of your router and doorbell, they will cause interference in the connection.
In this case, you should move the device like; a television, phone, or EarBuds that emits radio waves away from the router and your doorbell.
Also, you should look at the number of devices connected to that Wi-Fi connection and decrease the number of connected devices by removing a few you are currently not using.
4. Change Router Settings
The other reason for this connection problem can be your router’s bandwidth frequencies. There are several routers that support dual-band connectivity; on the other hand, your Aiwit doorbell can only work with a 2 GHz network.
Check the current bandwidth frequency; if it is 5Ghz, you should switch it from 5Ghz to 2.4Ghz. It might help you to connect the doorbell successfully.
5. Reset the Router
If the Wi-Fi connection issues are not resolved, and the doorbell is still not connecting, you should perform a factory reset for your router.
Performing a factory reset will refresh your router, remove all kinds of software bugs and return it back to its factory default settings.
Here is how you can reset your Wi-Fi router:
1. Ensure the router is switched on.
2. Locate the reset button on the back of your router.
3. Press and hold the button using a paperclip or other tool for about 15 seconds.
4. Release the button and wait until it automatically turns back on.
6. Update the Aiwit App
The Aiwit mobile app is important in setting up your doorbell. If the app is outdated or running on the previous version, it will be the reason for this abnormal behavior or connectivity issues.
The manufacturers release the latest updates for the app to improve its quality and provide you with extra features or improved security.
So, you should keep the app running on an up-to-date version to prevent issues. Here is how you can update the Aiwit app on your smartphone:
1. Open the Play Store or App Store app on your mobile phone.
2. Type Aiwit in the search box at the top of the screen.
3. And then click on the app, then click on Update.
7. Reset the Doorbell
In this circumstance, your Aiwit doorbell will also be the reason due to its faulty or corrupted software. So, you can fix it by performing a factory reset.
The resetting method will remove all kinds of data from your doorbell, including the glitches or bugs causing device problems.
Here is how you can reset your doorbell:
Resetting your Aiwit doorbell is simple; you can reset it by pressing the reset button for about 8 seconds. And release the button once the light on the doorbell is flashing red.
8. You May Have Changed Wi-Fi Security Key
While you have tried a lot of troubleshooting, your Aiwit doorbell is still not connecting; it can result if you changed your Wi-Fi security key or username.
So, you should look at your home network security credentials and ensure you’ve changed them.
If so, you should update the username or password that you’ve changed in the doorbell setup process.
9. Force Stop the App & Clear Cache
In the end, you should try to resolve this issue by troubleshooting the Aiwit app. You can fix the app by force-stopping it and removing the caches.
You can do so by following the below steps:
Force stop:
1. Long press the app icon from the mobile home screen.
2. Tap on the “app info” option.
3. Under the app info, click on “Force Stop.”
4. And tap on “Ok” to confirm it.
Clear Caches:
1. Long press the app icon from your phone’s home screen.
2. Then click on “App info.”
3. And tap on “Storage and Caches.”
4. Now, click on “Clear Caches.”
10. Contact Customer Support
If none of the above-shared tips has fixed your Aiwit doorbell connectivity problem, you should contact the Aiwit customer support team.
