1. Check Wi-Fi Network

Checking your network will be a possible solution to fix the SkyBell connection issues. You should ensure that your Wi-Fi connection isn’t faulty.

You can check it by connecting your phone or tablet to that network and then try to open the web browser.

If you cannot open or use the web browser on your phone with the same network, it means your network is faulty.

You should try a few possible solutions mentioned below to fix the Wi-Fi network problems.

2. Factory Reset Doorbell

When you are facing issues with the doorbell that isn’t connecting to the network, this issue can be due to a problem with your doorbell.

So, performing a factory reset for the SkyBell will be a possible solution to fix it. After resetting the doorbell, it will return to its factory default settings.

And also, resetting removes all temporary software glitches. Here are steps to reset your SkyBell:

  1. Press and hold the main button from your doorbell for about a minute.
  2. The LED light on the front of your doorbell will start flashing green rapidly > and then Green/ Red > after this flashing blue rapidly > then Yellow rapidly
  3. When the doorbell starts flashing yellow rapidly, you should release the button.
  4. This will help you to reboot your SkyBell to factory settings.
  5. Also, remember to remove the doorbell from the app before resetting.

Once you’ve successfully reset the doorbell, you should connect it to the app and Wi-Fi connection again and check if the issue is fixed.

3. Power Cycle Router

Another possible solution you should try is to power cycle the Wi-Fi router. It will refresh the device and remove all temporary glitches from the router.

Here are steps to power cycle the router:

  1. Locate the power adapter of the router.
  2. Unplug the adapter from the wall outlet.
  3. Wait about a minute.
  4. And then, plug the adapter into a power outlet.

4. Factory Reset Router

Factory reset is also a method to fix the issues with the Wi-Fi router or your doorbell. Performing a reset helps in removing the software glitches.

Also, it will turn the router back to its factory default settings. Then you can again connect it to the doorbell and get the issue removed.

Here are steps to reset the Wi-Fi router:

  1. Locate the reset button at the back of the router.
  2. Press and hold it with the help of a paperclip or other similar tool.
  3. After about 15 seconds, release this button.
  4. Wait until the router finishes the process and turn it back on.

5. Place Router Closer

If the Wi-Fi router isn’t placed closer to the doorbell, it will also be the reason for the connectivity issues with your SkyBell.

You should check that your router is closer to 50-100 meters from the doorbell. If not, you should move it closer to the doorbell.

It will help you resolve the problem, and you’ll be able to connect the doorbell to the network easily.

6. Remove Wireless Interference

Wireless interference will also be a reason for this issue with your SkyBell. So, check for wireless connection interferences and remove them.

If you have devices placed closer to the router that emits radio waves that can interfere with the connection, you should put them away.

7. Ensure you are connected to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi Network.

When you are facing trouble connecting the SkyBell to Wi-Fi, ensure your device is connected to the 2.4GHz network.

If the device is connected to a 5GHz network, it will cause issues. Because 5GHz has fast signals but doesn’t have long range.

So, you should move it from 5GHz to 2.4GHz network and check if the issue is fixed.

8. Update SkyBell App

An outdated app of your SkyBell is another common reason; you should check your app to ensure it isn’t outdated.

The app will show this issue if it is not running on the latest version. You should update it to get the problems resolved.

Here are steps to update the SkyBell app:

  1. Open the Google Play store app.
  2. Tap on the profile icon from the top right corner.
  3. Next, tap on manage apps & devices; apps with updates available will be labelled “update available.”
  4. Tap on Update for the SkyBell app.

9. Check Power Supply

Your SkyBell requires 10-36 VAC, 10 VA and 0.5-1 amp operating normally. If the doorbell is not receiving enough power, you should fix it.

You should check the doorbell wiring isn’t faulty or torn and also check the metal contacts at the back of the doorbell.

If pushed in, they will prevent it from charging; you should pull them out and check if the doorbell power issue is fixed.

11. Contact Customer Support

If your SkyBell still isn’t connecting to the Wi-Fi network, you should contact the customer support team.
