While you are facing an issue with your Simplisafe doorbell that is not connecting to your Wi-Fi, you should ensure that you are trying the correct method.

Here are steps you should follow to connect your doorbell to the Wi-Fi network. 

1. Check that the doorbell is flashing the white light before connecting. 

2. Launch the app and then tap on three bar icons and select your camera. 

3. Then select your Wi-Fi network and enter your security key. 

4. Now, tap on get your code and scan the QR code from your camera. 

After trying these methods, if your doorbell is still not connecting to the Wi-Fi network, you have to check a few things mentioned below: 

Wi-Fi Security Key

When you are following all the steps provided by the manufacturer, your doorbell does not connect to the Wi-Fi. You should check to ensure the Wi-Fi key is correct you are using to connect your doorbell. 

In a few cases, the security key might be changed, and you are still using your previous key. So, if you’ve changed the Wi-Fi security key, use the updated one while connecting to your doorbell. 

Weak Wi-Fi Signals 

Another common cause for your doorbell not connecting to the Wi-Fi connection is a slow or weak network connection. 

The network connection issue can be due if you have put your router too away from the doorbell. 

It causes the doorbell connection issue or sometimes keeps disconnecting your doorbell. So, you should relocate your router and place it closer to the doorbell. 

Network Interference 

Having network interferences also be a possible reason why your doorbell is not connecting to the Wi-Fi network. 

A few devices like television, phone, EarBuds, or smart watches that emit radio waves/ require a Wi-Fi network can interfere with your network. 

And result in preventing your doorbell from connecting to the Wi-Fi connection. So, you should remove these devices away from your doorbell and router. 

Factory Reset Router

And the second solution for this problem is to check that your doorbell is connected to the Wi-Fi connection. 

If the doorbell keeps disconnecting from your router, you should place the router closer to the doorbell, remove the internet interferences and use a Wi-Fi extender to improve the signals. 

If the doorbell remains disconnected from the router, you should check you’ve not changed the Wi-Fi security key, the subscription plan isn’t expired, and perform a factory reset. 

You can also disconnect other devices at your home connected to the same Wi-Fi connection. It will help you to improve the Wi-Fi signals. 

Lastly, if you have a dual-band frequency router, you should switch between the 2.4 and 5 GHz. The doorbell might connect one to the frequency.

Your Simplisafe doorbell might not send notifications to your phone if the motion alerts are disabled and your phone or doorbell is not connected to the Wi-Fi network. 

So, when you face this problem with your doorbell not sending motion alerts to your smartphone, you should check if your doorbell is online or connected to Wi-Fi. 

And check your phone as well to ensure it is connected to the Wi-Fi network. The issue can also be due to when your phone and doorbell are not on the same network. 

So, you should ensure your doorbell and phone are connected to the same Wi-Fi connection. If the problem persists, you should check the doorbell firmware update. 

If the doorbell software/ firmware is outdated, it will cause this kind of problem, and you should install the latest version in order to fix it. 

In the end, you can power cycle your doorbell and Wi-Fi router or perform a factory reset for your doorbell and Wi-Fi router; it will possibly resolve the problem.

Soft Reset:

Press the small button from the back of your doorbell, and it will soft reset it. 

Hard Reset: 

To hard reset your doorbell, press and hold the large button from the back of your doorbell for about 15 seconds. 

Does the Simplisafe doorbell need to be charged? 

No, the SimpliSafe doorbell does not need to be charged because it can be hardwired and keeps charging automatically while the battery is low. 

How to Fix Simplisafe doorbell not scanning qr code

While your Simplisafe doorbell isn’t scanning the QR code, you should ensure that you are scanning it in the correct way. 

Also, you should check the lighting; if you are scanning the code in too bright or dark light, it can not be scanned.
